The first-time MLA of MNS party (which itself had contested the assembly elections for the first-time in October 2009) was suspended for 4 years from the assembly on the opening day of the functioning. This suspension was for the unruly protest in the house, opposing Abu Asim Azmi of Samajwadi Party taking the oath in Hindi. It was reported and shown on TV-footage that Ram Kadam slapped and punched Abu Asim Azmi in the house. Three other MLAs of MNS party were also suspended for 4 years. They were Vasant Gite, Ramesh Wanjale and Shishir Shinde.
